How to Propose a Member
Rotary seeks the man, the man does not seek Rotary!!! Membership in a Rotary Club is by invitation only and is on the basis of one representative of each business and profession.
Procedure for proposing a new member:
-
Propose the prospective new member to the Club Membership Committee or Board of Directors
-
The Membership and Classification Committee will review the applicant's qualifications and make a recommendation to the Board of Directors.
-
If the Board approves, the prospect's name will be submitted to the Club.
-
If no written objection is received by the club within a 7-day period, the prospective member is considered to be elected to membership.
It is best not to advise a prospect of your intentions to propose him or her to Rotary, until after the application process is completed.
